A city you can
own a corner of.

RobinCity is one shared pixel world, 112 tiles across, running on Robinhood Chain. Walk into it and you are in it. Buy a venue and you pick the ground it stands on, and then you watch the builders put it up while everybody else watches too.

No wallet needed to look around.

How a building gets there

You pick a kind in the shop and pay its price in ETH, from 0.01 for a kiosk to 0.1 for the tower. One transaction; nothing to approve first, and no token to go and find. The shop draws a ticket before you pay, saying what this payment is for and exactly what it costs, and the server matches the two by reading the receipt off the chain.

Then the world opens with every free plot lit up and waits for you to pick one. The moment you do, the site is marked out, the foundations go in, the walls come up under scaffolding with a crane over them, and about twenty seconds later the place opens. Anybody standing nearby sees the same thing at the same time, and anybody who walks past afterwards can click the building and see that it is yours.

What it earns comes from the crowd it draws, and it is paid in $CITY every six hours. You collect it by walking up to your own door.

The Casino runs a horse race

It stands on the north east corner of the square. Open a table, back one of five horses with a stake in ETH, and when the third person sits down the set switches on and they run. Whoever backed the winner takes the pot; if nobody did, everybody gets their stake back.

The race comes out of a secret whose hash is on the table before anybody bets. It is published at the start, and your own browser reruns the race from it and lands on the same winner, so there is nothing to take on trust.

The Casino at night

Where it stands today

Half of what a project like this usually promises is not built. Here is the honest list, which is also why the shop and the world say what they say.

  • The world, the day and the night, the funfair, fishing on the lake, the wardrobe, chat
  • Buying a venue in ETH, with the receipt checked on chain
  • Choosing the plot, and watching it built
  • Clicking any building to see whose it is and what it has earned
  • The Casino, with real ETH on the table
  • The $CITY payouts: the contract is written, not deployed
  • The collection on chain: until then a purchase is a recorded claim
  • Merging, a marketplace, voice, crews, homes, pets
